Heart for Music Fall Update
Welcome to a recent update for Heart for Music (HFM).
At Heart for Music our mission is to improve the lives of seniors through music.
Over the past few months, the Heart for Music Program has continued to grow across the country from more locations in Ontario to events in B.C.
Our donation packages include equipment and technology such as tablets, speakers, and headphones.
More long-term care homes are receiving access to music.
In September HFM made three more package donations to new care homes, one live music event in B.C. and started outreach in New Brunswick.
As of this fall, Heart for Music currently supports 229 care homes across Canada and has impacted 32,000 total seniors.
With sixteen in Ontario, twenty-four in Manitoba, thirty-one in Saskatchewan, fifty-one in Alberta 104 in B.C. and one in the Yukon (as well as outreach in NB).
During July 2024 the organization sent 4 HFM donation packages, supported a live music event in B.C. and assisted care homes in program set up and relaunch.
In August we sent 8 HFM donations, and continued support of existing programs in care homes.
The program was also fortunate enough to have 2 summer student jobs this year with two fantastic employees for the term.
Meera, one of our summer hires in Ontario, expanded HFM into more care homes in the province.
Tanner in B.C. worked on Heart for Music events, social media, and administrative support.
We are grateful for them both, and glad to be continuing with Meera on a part time basis as she works towards her masters.
