For over fifteen years, Rick’s Heart Foundation has supported Korle-Bu Neuroscience Foundation, and we are so proud of their incredible work across West Africa. Please enjoy KBNF’s 2024 Impact Report overview below.

Dear Rick’s Heart Foundation,

Our latest Annual Report is hot off the press. We are thrilled to share this 52-page book with you, showcasing the work of KBNF in 2024.

One year.

Seven container loads.

35 surgeries.

42 distributions in Liberia

4,780 volunteer hours

A new warehouse location in Canada.

118 West African nurses connected in a network of support

Many stories of transformation.

So much heart.

You can download the report on our website here or pop by the warehouse to hold a printed copy in your hands. When you join our KBNF Champions Network, you also receive your own personal copy.

Below is a glimpse of the Annual Report we shared on Instagram:

On Thursday, May 8, we loaded a container destined for Kanad Hospital in Sierra Leone.

We shipped:

8 beds
7 stretchers
1 shower bed
2 cribs
1 baby warmer
3 exam tables with supplies
4 nursing carts with supplies
16 stacking chairs
11 over-the-bed tables, and more!

We also sent walkers, canes, crutches and a wheelchair, as well as lots of boxes of medical supplies.

Thank you to all the volunteers who came to help out on a weekday!

This month, our Volunteer Saturday happened on May 24. Volunteers spent a lovely, sunny day sorting medical supplies and helping to get ready for our next load to Liberia. We were able to sit outside for lunch and everyone shared something they are celebrating in their lives. One of our volunteers recently celebrated a significant wedding anniversary, another volunteer received a great internship, while another Grade 12 student is graduating. We celebrate our volunteers and we are so grateful for all the ways volunteers show up to support this work.

Dear Korle-Bu family,

When we hold the Annual.Report in our hands every year, it is such a powerful reminder of all the good work that happens in one year. We are so grateful that we get to be part of supporting and building neurosurgery in West Africa, alongide our partners and this whole family.

Thank you for ALL you do to support this work.

Love,
