This holiday season, the needs that our local elders have only increases. Our Heart for Music Program brings music equipment to seniors in non-profit and rural care homes. We are working to bring familiar, Christmas tunes to seniors in BC and across Western Canada.
Donations of $10 will be matched, and will ensure the continued donation of music equipment to seniors!
What the music donation looks like:
Headphones
On-ear Headphones bring personal music sessions to seniors, can help with those who are hard of hearing, and allow for seniors to enjoy agency within a loud/group environment.
Tablets
With the ability to hold and play multiple music playlists, and the ease of use, tablets bring music to seniors who don’t have access to personal music equipment.
Familiar Music Playlists
The true impact of music stems from its ability to kindle memories and reach past the barriers of the brain. Reminding seniors of songs they had forgotten, and bringing a smile and a song to non-verbal elders.
