Volunteer in Surrey, BC

Are you looking to volunteer in Surrey? We appreciate your interest in helping us at Rick’s Heart Foundation. We would not be able to make nearly as big of an impact in the world without our compassionate, dedicated, and hard-working volunteers.
Rick’s Heart Foundation spearheads projects taking care of our neighbours locally and globally including the marginalized population, the at-risk, those battling addiction, low income individuals, or simply those needing some joy in their lives. Our mission is to make a positive difference in the world by supporting those at risk in our local community and beyond.

For those looking to volunteer in Surrey, BC, our main project which we are accepting volunteers for is with our Heart For Music Program, which is based in Surrey, BC. With many places shut down during COVID-19, our seniors in Canadian care homes have really taken a hit. Many older adults living in Long Term Care are marginalized and isolated, leaving hard-working staff to bear the responsibility and sometimes the financial burden to provide them with life-changing therapies and care. The Heart For Music program brings joy, peace and sweet memories to these seniors. They are set up with personal playlists downloaded with music that is meaningful to them. The program is now at over 100 care homes in BC, and at over 200 across Canada.

Volunteer positions may include fundraising, button-making, events in the Lower Mainland, and supporting admin staff in various tasks.

We are looking for passionate individuals who want to be a part of a team that is changing the lives of our local seniors! Since we are a small organization with no physical location, with our staff and volunteers mainly working from home, involvement as a volunteer needs to be flexible as opportunities are sporadic.

Thank you again for your interest. If you would like to connect with us directly, email us at info@ricksheartfoundation.com.

Volunteers don’t get paid, not because they’re worthless, but because they’re priceless.”
